Coat season is upon us!

After a rather warm start, it seems Autumn is now really upon us and we're starting to need those layers. This season we've got coats covered, whether it's a light padded coat for now, or a super cosy thick padded coat for later in the year, a fully waterproof coat which doesn't lack in style, or a more tailored coat. We've picked our favourites from in store to share with you.

Coats are investment pieces, and need to be right, so we've selected styles not only on their style and functionality but on their quality. With brands such as Weekend by MaxMara, Marc Cain and Paul Smith who are famed for their coats, along with new and exciting brands.

One of our newest coat brands is BRGN, who create the most stylish raincoats we've ever seen. These coats have been innovatively designed in Bergen, Norway using eco friendly waterproofing techniques and great design details including magnetic fastenings, they feature hidden hoods that are actually big enough to protect you from the rain, and come in a whole host of styles that make rain wear chic!

Here's our round up of the best coats of the season...

Not technically a coat, but we just had to share this longline gilet from Marc Cain, crafted in Thinsulate fabric it provides a lightweight yet warm layer for your outfits. Wear over a long sleeved tee now, a chunky knit as it gets cooler, or even layer under a more tailored coat for extra warmth and an added dose of style. £285

This coat from Marc Cain looks like it's crafted from wool, but on closer inspection it is a printed Thinsulate fabric, making it lightweight yet warm. It's already proven very popular with our customers as it has such a great tailored shape and looks equally as good worn over jeans as it does dressed up for a smarter occasion. £499

A coat that oozes luxury, this Marc Cain coat has definitely got the wow factor, and makes you feel amazing once you've got it on! Paul Smith always does the most gorgeous and unexpected colour combinations. This gorgeous check piece has such a beautiful texture to it which really makes it stand out, It could definitely be worn over a dress for a statement look for a special occasion, but we love it teamed with our denim.
